This is a journey that is different to the others. Previously I have had a home to return to after my adventures were over. This is a brave giant step outside the comfort zone as there is no house to return to. It is a time of being aware entirely of who I am with no distractions. There is the question of where am I going? It is a time for trust and adventure.
After leaving the comfort's of Belinda's home in Melbourne I have driven down to the Mornington Peninsular. I wanted to go the Hot Springs which I did. It was a cold day and just right for sitting around in hot steaming pools for 3 hours. It is a beautiful place and very popular. I got there at 8 am for the earlybird special.
I decided to go to the cinema in the evening and had the whole cinema to myself. That is a first. I saw Paper Towns which is a teen coming of age movie. Definitely worth a look and some messages for everyone.
I stayed in a very quiet caravan park - Blairgowrie Caravan Park. The mature gentleman who showed me to my spot said he has had the park for over 50 years. It is mainly permanent caravans and I appeared to be the only campervan there. the amenities were very dated and lots of original signage.
Sorrento has lots of shops and cafes and it is easier to spend time wondering around.
The next night I went to the cinema again in preference to sitting in my van at night. I saw Walking the Camino - Six Ways to Santiago. It was a documentary and worth watching. Each person doing the walk was there for a different reason and saw life a little differently at the end. Very inspiring.
This time there was me and one other in the cinema!!!
Tonight I am camped in a park next to the bay. Very cold and windy.

A new adventure.....
It is a very different adventure this time. I have sold my home and now my van is my home. A big change for me after 15 years of living in a lovely small community in the country. I will miss my neighbours who became my friends. A reluctant move as I so much enjoyed living there but my time of mowing lots of grass and gardening etc was becoming a chore so time to move on to new possibilities.
I am in Melbourne having a lovely time with my niece and her family. There are lots of places to go and shops etc but so much traffic that it scares me!!! I think I already long for country life.
We have had fun at op shops and got a few bargains and already know where the best op shops are. The Salvos are by far the most expensive.
I had a lovely visit to Lara's cafe and had a very nice chicken and leek pastie. The chai tea there is excellent too. Also had a melting moment which does melt in the mouth.
The next stop along the road....is....watch this spot.

UP DATE
Last Friday a week ago I caught a bus early in the morning at Karratha. I headed south to Minilya via Exmouth and Coral Bay. such a long and uncomfortable journey. I was picked up by a familiar face at Minilyna Road House. Cath from Lyndon was their with her children and was to take me to Williambury. I arrived at say 6.30 pm. I came here as Station cook. Very different to Lyndon which is the only other cattle station I had been to. I have to cook in the homestead kitchen so do not have much free range in cooking. There are workers on property and woofers and they did a muster last week. The boss has a plane and they got in a gyrocopter whatever that is.
I said it is too hot for me to work until November so she is going to look for another cook and I am happy with that and will probably head off back to Victoria.
It is lovely meeting people from Ireland, Germany and Italy. We have so many laughs sitting around the fire at night having a drink. That is the best part of the place.
I get so tired during the day. Start at 7.30 am and then smoko at 9.30 am then work till 12 for lunch then back to work at 2pm till 5. Also half day on Saturday and Sunday off.
They do mustering on horses as well as motorbikes and some of the woofers have been horseriders and having been helping with the muster. I just have to keep making muffins, pikelets, stews, spag bol etc. etc. Feeling like a very old backpacker at the moment.

Along the way
I boarded the bus from Broome last Saturday night after going to the Environs Kimberley Art Auction. Some great artworks and great food - a fundraiser for a great cause.
Thank you Ayesha for being very kind with letting me have a room at her place and introducing me to some locals. I also enjoyed walking Kora along the beach.
Cable Beach is the best beach and I enjoyed swims and walks. Many coffees at various places and many trips on the Broome Bus.
I didn't get a job in Broome but have moved on and heading off to Williambury Station to be a cook and housekeeper. Have stopped along the way to visit Tom and Petra and tomorrow morning off on the new adventure.

BEAUTIFUL BROOME
Have been in Broome since last Thursday. Had a wonderful time in Karratha with Tom and Petra and sad to say goodbye. Caught the bus late at night from Karratha to arrive the next morning in Broome. Caught a local town bus to Beaches of Broome at Cable Beach. Have a room to myself and have been having a lovely time. Walks along the beach in the morning, bus into town for a coffee and a look around the shops. Also on internet looking for jobs and making phone calls. Caught up with Luke and Fi who used to live in Stanley who were also on holiday in Broome.
Lovely mild days however had a few cooler nights.
